OXBO are delighted to be partnering with a company that develops impressive, large scale Solar PV projects worldwide to assist them in hiring a New Markets Manager. This is an opportunity for someone to travel the world, seeking out new markets for the business to grow into.

Currently working in South America, North America, the UK and Australia, the successful candidate will be tasked with project managing all business development activities across the company as well as targeting entry into three new markets to develop Solar PV projects in.

This is an exciting chance to join a company that is genuinely mission led, and is pursuing Solar PV development in order to decarbonise electricity markets around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Screening various international markets that are potentially suitable for the company to develop renewable energy projects and producing market reports / entry strategies for various renewable energy technologies;
  • Documenting development processes in new and existing markets / reviewing risks and opportunities;
  • Leading the origination of new prospects, the screening and evaluation of development project opportunities and negotiation of commercial and legal terms;
  • Managing the commercial aspects of projects to ensure that financial objectives are achieved in a dynamic environment; and
  • Managing business development personnel (internal and external) in the company’s existing markets to define strategy and targets and periodically reporting on project pipeline, competition, market developments.

Requirements

  • Batchelor’s or master’s degree required. Further qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable working in different languages and cultures and preferably have experience in developing projects and businesses in emerging markets;
  • Self-motivated, persistent, hardworking, and personable;
  • Experience of working within a similar role in the energy sector;
  • Understanding of key value drivers in renewable energy development projects
  • An understanding of planning and environmental processes for energy project development;
  • Demonstrated experience leading and implementing business strategy projects;
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • Commercial awareness and acumen;
  • Understanding of PV and competing technologies;
  • Experience in preparing market research reports would be valuable
