Overview:
As the Solar Commissioning Manager, you will play a vital role in managing the commissioning phase of Photovoltaic plants, ensuring successful plant handovers. You will direct, plan, and oversee construction projects from the closure of construction through pre-operation testing and commissioning.
Location & Travel Details:
You will have the chance to travel extensively across the US, contributing to the construction of renewable projects. This is a traveling role (up to 100%), meaning you will be working onsite at project locations nationwide. Average project durations are 8-12 months. We offer a designated daily per diem, alongside your base salary, to assist with living expenses. Routine travel home (rotation) from the job site is also included. A company vehicle along with a fuel and purchase card will be provided.

Responsibilities:
Lead commissioning for utility-scale Solar projects, ensuring compliance with all company safety protocols.
Prepare comprehensive commissioning schedules, covering pre-commissioning to final commissioning and testing.
Determine the size and responsibilities of the commissioning team for each site.
Exercise supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and legal standards.
Create commissioning documents tailored to each site per contract requirements.
Organize necessary documentation for each project site.
Manage third-party testing as required.
Review and verify completed testing documentation.
Maintain systematic records throughout the project.
Monitor and maintain paperwork throughout the entirety of the project.
Make informed, well-considered decisions.
Ensure accurate schedule maintenance to track time and production.
Complete the project by the specified deadline.
Analyze and communicate productivity improvements.
Enforce discipline on the job site and maintain a professional demeanor.
Communicate effectively with larger groups, including employees, owners, and engineers.
Interview, hire, and train direct reports.
Plan, assign, direct work, evaluate performance, reward and discipline employees, and resolve complaints as necessary.
Collaborate with the Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Supervisor to execute LOTO procedures on-site.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent education and experience.
A minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory role.
Commissioning experience in solar, BESS, or wind construction projects is .
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Commitment to health and safety principles, supporting the company’s Zero Injury initiative.
Aptitude to organize and supervise commissioning crews across all construction facets.
Ability to conduct commissioning and start-up operations per established manuals.
Capacity to forecast, monitor, and estimate commissioning timelines and costs.
In-depth knowledge of commissioning tools, methods, and safety requirements.
Experience supervising testing of high, medium, low voltage, and DC equipment/systems.
Adept at problem-solving, scheduling, and applying commissioning methods.
Strong leadership and motivational skills tailored to team dynamics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software for project management.
Capable of effectively reading, interpreting, and communicating technical documents and instructions.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
Strong analytical skills, able to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
