Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Status: (Full‑Time or Part‑Time)

Classification: Non‑Exempt

Reports to: Manager, Software Development

Purpose

The Software Engineering supports the team by assisting with coding, development, testing, documentation, and solution design. The will be working with development tools and architectural best practices while supporting active software projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in basic coding and development tasks across web, mobile, API, Azure, and database solutions.
  • Participates in code reviews, pull requests, and collaborative development activities.
  • Helps analyze technical options, create prototypes, and prepare documentation.
  • Supports troubleshooting efforts and contributes to improving application performance and stability.
  • Follows established development standards, security practices, and architectural guidelines.
  • Conducts research and provides technical support for integration and solution implementations.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of software development principles and problem‑solving techniques.
  • Coursework or exposure to Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, Azure, or similar technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new technologies.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a professional office or home‑office setting using standard computers and office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.

Physical Demands

This role regularly requires the ability to sit, see, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Visual acuity is necessary for tasks such as reading, observing surroundings, or working with various forms of data.
