Software Engineering Manager | Purpose-Led, profitable start-up

Salary: £100-115k + Equity

Location: London, Hybrid (2 days pw)

As an Software Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a talented, cross-functional team driving product growth and experimentation. This is a blend of people leadership and hands-on technical work (Ruby or TypeScript), where you’ll mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and still stay close to the code.

You’ll work closely with product, design, and data teams to deliver high-impact features, evolve engineering practices, and help scale one of the most forward-thinking start-ups in the sustainability space.

Software Engineering Manager, what you’ll bring:

• Experience leading and developing high-performing software teams (4+ engineers)
• Strong technical background in Ruby on Rails, React, or TypeScript
• Hands-on mindset, comfortable coding, setting technical direction and being heavily involved in Architectural decisions.
• Collaborative approach with a passion for mentoring and empowering others
• Experience in start-up or scale-up environments, ideally within product-led growth teams
