You'll help us to transform how we deliver the first contact point many of our customers have with Cambridge University Press & Assessment; our public website. What makes you the ideal candidate in this role?You are an experienced software engineer, already having impact in a team improving their best practices whilst delivering solutions on time and on budget. Ideally, you will have built up that experience using frameworks including Drupal, PHP, Jira, git, and Solr.For this role, we have prioritised the features we will be looking for in you and what you can demonstrate to us: Must demonstrate competence to deliver quality processes and software engineering practices across a teama good knowledge of one or more PHP frameworks, ideally demonstrated by contribution to their respective open-source projectan ability to coach and mentor software engineers Should demonstrate a good knowledge of Drupal, ideally demonstrated by contribution to the Drupal projecthow to apply best practice design patterns in PHPgood practice in code review, giving constructive feedback to team members, helping to develop their own capabilities at every opportunitya thorough understanding of agile development principles and how they are implemented using Scrum Could demonstrate implementation of process improvement, quality control, or similar projectsdevelopment and provision of trainingknowledge of specific Drupal-related technologies, including SiteStudio, migration, custom entities, internationalisation, and caching.
