JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks for back-end APIs and front-end applications using BDD (Cucumber, Gherkin) to ensure scalable, reliable test coverage.
  • Build and execute API automation tests using Rest Assured, Java, and Spring Boot, validating RESTful services, data integrity, and business logic.
  • Develop and maintain UI automation using Cypress or Playwright with TypeScript, validating web applications across browsers using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Perform end-to-end, system integration, and full-stack testing, including integrations with third-party services and external APIs.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality standards across Agile delivery teams.
  • Utilize Postman, Swagger, and API documentation to validate API contracts, troubleshoot issues, and support automation development.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Git.
  • Develop proofs of concept (POCs) and contribute to solutioning discussions to improve test automation coverage, efficiency, and tooling.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test scripts, test cases, test data, and test plans to support functional, regression, and integration testing efforts.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate test data and back-end processing across relational databases.
  • Conduct performance and load testing to ensure system scalability, reliability, and stability under expected and peak usage.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively identify quality risks, communicate findings clearly, and drive resolution in fast-paced, complex environments.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 6+ years’ experience in this capacity of SDET automation engineer

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 6+ years Back-end/API and 3+ years Front-end/UI testing automation experience with BDD Cucumber and Gherkin
  • 6+ years of Back-end/API automation skills: Rest Assured, Java and Spring Boot
  • 6+ years of Front-end/UI automation skills: Cypress or Playwright, Typescript and Web (i.e., HTML, JavaScript and CSS)
  • Good working experience with Postman, Swagger, RESTful APIs and CICD
  • Experience in handling solutioning and POCs

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Plan, design, develop, and maintain API test automation framework that facilitates automation scripting, execution, and analysis of results
  • Develop of test automation code for Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), of systems, infrastructure, and test framework.
  • End-to-end system integration testing experience for software platforms
  • Proven experience developing test scripts, test cases, and test data
  • The ability to write queries in SQL or other relational databases
  • Experience testing full stack and integration testing with 3rd parties
  • Experience with Apigee or other API gateways is a plus
  • Experience with DevOps concepts and tools (e.g., Microsoft AzureDevOps, Jenkins, Git)
  • At least 2 years working on an Agile team with a solid understanding of Agile/Lean practices.
  • Experience load and performance testing
