We are building the Alexa eXperience Data (AXD) Platform which is a set of services providing data products that support customer experience (CX) insights. Those insights help the organization understand drivers for customer engagement and how Alexa features are being consumed. We innovate on behalf of our customers to improve their experience.If you are interested in building web applications, distributed backend systems and databases with performance and scalability in mind, if you would like to work with huge datasets and bring them together to answer business questions and drive growth — we would like to talk to you.Key job responsibilities- Design, build and operate software services and web applications that support data analytics workflows- Actively contribute to projects developed by multiple engineers- Work with customers, stakeholders and peers- Drive good engineering practices and operational excellence in the team- Define solutions to realize business value and meet customer needs- Bring clarity to problems and identify simple designsAbout the teamAmazon Alexa is a project of unique scale and needs, so our team has strong data engineering and software engineering competencies, applies modern data engineering approaches and doubles down on using scalable Amazon Web Services (AWS) when developing our solutions.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Gdansk, POL | Krakow, POL | Warsaw, POLBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, C#, C/C++, Python, etc.)- Basic experience with Linux/Unix systems- Solid knowledge of CS fundamentals (algorithms, data structures)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSQualifications listed below will be helpful in this role but are not required. You will gain this experience working with us.- Experience working with AWS (e.g. Lambda, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Cloud Development Kit)- Experience building distributed systems, microservices, serverless applications, RESTful APIs, web applications- Knowledge and experience with various processes in the full SDLC (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build systems, integration and deployment, maintenance, updates, etc.)- Experience delivering software features and improvements to major portions of production software
