Job Description
How do you feel about designing industrial control system for some of the UK’s biggest Utilities companies? A leading and fast-growing Systems Integration company delivering cutting-edge automation and control solutions across manufacturing, logistics, energy, and process industries are in need of a Software Controls Engineer.\n\nThey partner with world-class technology providers including Allen-Bradley (by Rockwell Automation), Siemens, and Mitsubishi Electric to design, develop, and deploy high-performance control systems for complex industrial environments.\n\nAs a Software Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems. You’ll work on diverse, technically challenging projects from concept through to site acceptance, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust and innovative automation solutions.\n\nJob Responsibilities:\n\n * Develop PLC software using Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Siemens, and Mitsubishi platforms\n\n * Design and configure HMI/SCADA systems\n\n * Produce functional design specifications and test documentation\n\n * Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing)\n\n * Commission systems on client sites (UK/International travel may be required)\n\n * Troubleshoot and optimise existing control systems\n\nExperience required:\n\n * Proven experience programming PLCs using: (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell (Studio 5000, RSLogix) / Siemens (TIA Portal, Step 7) / Mitsubishi (GX Works)\n\n * Experience with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, Profibus)\n\n * Strong understanding of control systems, automation architecture, and industrial safety
