ROLE OVERVIEW:

The opportunity exists for an experienced, driven, and passionate Social Impact and Sustainability professional to join the Performance54 team on a full-time basis. The role will work with key stakeholders in order to establish and implement a Social Impact and Sustainability Strategy.

A passion for sport and extensive experience in a community and sustainability role within sports industry is essential. The role can be based in any of the countries where Performance54 events take place with the expectation of periodic international travel as required.

The candidate must also be comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently and meeting tight deadlines. Experience in working on Social Impact and Sustainability programmes for major international events is highly desirable.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

The Director - Social Impact and Sustainability, will be responsible for:

  • Working with key stakeholders internally and externally to develop a Social Impact and SustainabilityStrategy and Implementation Strategy for the Company.
  • Establishing the Strategy with the Company and driving its implementation with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Periodic reporting to the Board and external reporting to key partners on Social Impact and Sustainability metrics.
  • Establish Social and Environment Policies that align with the laws within each country where P54 activates events.
  • Drive Sustainability as the North Star of the organisation and embed into the strategic thinking of each department.

Social Impact

  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement key organisational resources, including but not limited to:
  • An Organisational Accessibility, Inclusion and Diversity Plan.
  • An Event Accessibility, Inclusion and Diversity Plan.
  • An Incident Management System for events.
  • A Policy on Anti-slavery and human trafficking.
  • Develop a framework for philanthropic support and work with key stakeholder to implement aligned initiatives.

Sustainability

  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement key organisational resources, including but not limited to:
  • An Environmental Risk Assessment / Register for use within the Company and at all events.
  • An Environmental Site Management Plan at the Company and all events including key areas such as;
  • Environmental legal compliance, management of sensitive sites, oil and fuel storage, spill control, drainage plan and environmental incident response and effective crowd management around sensitive or protected habitats.
  • An Event Sustainability Plan delivering across all event sustainability target areas, including but not limited to:
  • Carbon/ greenhouse gas emissions, Supplier engagement and supply-chain management, waste management, energy and water usage, heritage, nature and biodiversity.
  • An Environment and Sustainability Management System aligned to ISO Standards.
  • Ensuring the inclusion of Environment and Sustainability Assessment and Credential checks of potential suppliers and or contractors, within the company’s Procurement Policy.
  • Any other Environment and Sustainability policies, procedures or practices that are required by event partners.

SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/APTITUDES NEEDED:

· Knowledge of current trends relating to the development and implementation of Social Impact and Sustainability initiatives within the sports industry.

· Knowledge of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and other relevant ESG reporting frameworks.

· Experience in the development and implementation of relevant ISO Management Systems.

· Experience with carbon emission measurement and reporting as it pertains to scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions.

· Experience in the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures.

· Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.

· Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks.

· Administrative and IT skills, and an ability to maintain records and produce reports.

· Understanding of latest technology and role AI will play in future sustainability initiatives.
