Job DescriptionJob Description Ready to take the controls when winter hits?
Imagine rolling up to a site as flakes start falling. Dispatch has given you your marching orders. You clear lanes, widen passes, and keep the operation moving—precisely, safely, and efficiently. If a fuel cell is onsite, you refuel and record it in the daily log. The cab stays clean so you can stay sharp. Anything unusual? You inform your foreman immediately. Before you leave, you double-check equipment safety and report any maintenance needs.
Where you'll support
We cover Chicagoland, SE Wisconsin, and NW Indiana, with many sites across the area, such as Waukegan, Schaumburg, Melrose Park, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Rockford, Northbrook, Oak Brook, Bolingbrook, Naperville, Joliet, Orland Park, Olympia Fields, Frankfort. To help assign a location near you, we may ask for your home address.
Your impact
- Plow parking lots according to dispatch or foreman direction.
- Apply salt or shovel when necessary or as instructed.
- Track fuel at the beginning and end of each event; refuel from onsite fuel cells and complete the daily fuel log when applicable.
- Keep the equipment cab free from trash and debris.
- Immediately report any incidents or accidents to your foreman.
- Ensure equipment is safe and operational; report maintenance issues right away.
What you need to succeed
- 2+ years in commercial snow removal or heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.; willing to shovel and salt walks in addition to plowing.
- Legal, clean driving record; CDL if applicable.
- Open to completing a Safety Council defensive driving course if required.
- Demonstrated skill in Skid Steer Operation.
