Description of Duties:

The Slate (CRM) Technical Specialist will support technical aspects of multi-campus initiative to consolidate 3-4 existing Slate CRM instances into a single, unified, and optimized Slate environment. This individual will serve as the technical subject matter expert for Slate configuration, data migration, system integration, and the implementation of new standardized processes across all participating units. The Slate (CRM) Technical Specialist will work closely with institutional stakeholders, project managers, functional leads, and others. The Slate Technical Specialist will ensure a seamless, secure, and scalable transition that supports best practices in recruiting, admissions, application management, and student engagement.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Technolutions Slate CRM in a technical or systems administrator capacity.
  • Proven experience configuring and managing complex Slate features including rules, portals, forms, workflows, datasets, queries, and Deliver campaigns.
  • Strong expertise in data migration, ETL, and integrations using APIs or secure file exchange mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical implementations, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate across functional and technical teams.
  • Proficiency with SQL, JSON/XML, and scripting tools.
  • Experience working in higher education, particularly in enrollment management, admissions, or student services.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience consolidating or implementing enterprise CRM systems across multiple units or campuses, .
  • Familiarity with SIS platforms (e.g., Ellucian Banner, Workday Student) and integration tools (e.g., Dell Boomi, Informatica, Mulesoft), .
  • Technolutions Slate Certified Partner status or similar advanced training credentials, .
  • Familiarity with data governance and FERPA compliance, .
  • Agile or PMP-based project experience, .
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership & Configuration
    • Assist the technical configuration of the new, consolidated Slate instance based on standardized business processes and user requirements.
    • Develop and implement configurable features such as datasets, forms, events, portals, queries, reports, stages, workflows, rules, deliver campaigns, and communications plans.
    • Create and manage roles, permissions, and security protocols in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Data Migration & Conversion
    • Develop and execute a data migration strategy to consolidate and transform legacy data from four separate Slate instances into the new instance.
    • Map, clean, and validate data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
    • Collaborate with institutional data stewards and functional leads to identify and preserve critical data elements.
  • Integration Management
    • Design and implement system integrations between Slate and other key institutional systems such as Student Information Systems (e.g., Banner, Workday), management, document imaging, and third-party platforms.
    • Utilize Slate APIs, web services, and secure file transfers to manage integrations.
    • Ensure integration processes are automated, monitored, and logged with appropriate error handling and notifications.
  • Testing, Quality Assurance, & Documentation
    • Develop and execute test plans for data loads, configurations, and integrations.
    • Create technical documentation, configuration guides, and data dictionaries.
    • Collaborate with functional teams to support user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Support, Training, & Change Management
    • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support during and after go-live.
    • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior technical staff and departmental Slate users.
    • Assist with training and knowledge transfer to institutional IT and Slate admin teams.

Working Schedule:

  • Remote
  • 5 – 10 / hours weekly

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
