Bear General Contractors is seeking an experienced Site & Utility Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the preconstruction process, including the development of project budgets, cost estimates, scheduling, and value engineering. The candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and vendors as a highly organized individual focused on joining a growing team to make a positive impact on our projects.
Responsibilities:
Manage preconstruction activities including budgeting, scheduling, and estimating.
Determine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for bidding projects.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
Analyze and review construction plans and specifications.
Perform quantity take-off, data input, and product research.
Work in conjunction with other Estimators and Project Managers to adhere to quality assurance practices, finalize projects, and meet designated deadlines.
Manage all Requests for Information (RFI) in a timely manner and coordinate and distribute relevant information to affected parties.
Create cost efficiencies through ongoing estimating process improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field of study.
5+ years of Site & Utility Commercial Construction experience.
Thorough knowledge of construction forecasting, cost, scheduling, and estimating.
Ability to understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
