We are looking for the right person to join our team as a Site Safety Professional. Is that you? If so, we want to talk to you!

Responsibilities

As a Site Safety Professional, your key responsibility will be to manage and enforce IEI's Safety Program for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage. By using and enforcing job specific safety standards, best management practices, and IEI's safety program, the Site Safety Professional shall ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident free project.

A. Education
• Conduct weekly "Toolbox Safety Meeting', document content and attendance.
• Conduct Safety for new employees.
• Advise project staff on site specific safety issues/guidelines.
• Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.
• Train employees in the following:
- Aerial Lifts
- Confined Spaces
- Trenching/Evacuation
- Forklifts (Standard & Rough Terrain)
- Electrical & Lockout/Tagout (NFPA 70E)

B. Jobsite
• Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as IEI company policies and owner/contractual requirements.
• Assess situations in the field and develop a plan with employees to move forward safely.
• Conduct daily and/or weekly (as appropriate or specified by job) job site inspections.
• Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
• Investigate, corroborate, and document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
• Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.

What it takes
• A degree in occupational safety and health or related field.
• OSHA 30 Certification within the past 5 years.
• 5+ years safety experience in construction or similar industry fulfilling a health and safety role.
• Electrical certifications a plus.
