Overview:We are seeking an experienced and qualified Site Safety Manager to oversee safety operations on a project in the Palo Alto area. The Site Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are in compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, and that all workers and subcontractors follow proper safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program for the construction project, including policies and procedures, training materials, and communication protocols.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective action to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the safety program, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and workers to establish and maintain a culture of safety on the job site.
- Conduct safety training for workers and subcontractors, ensuring that all personnel are aware of safety protocols and procedures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents on the job site, identifying root causes and making recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of all safety-related activities and incidents, including injury reports, training logs, and inspection reports.
- Communicate regularly with project managers and other stakeholders to provide updates on safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as a liaison between the contractor and regulatory agencies, ensuring that all necessary permits and certifications are obtained and that all safety regulations are being followed.
Qualifications:
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) credential required.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field .
- OSHA 500, 510 or equivalent required
- Minimum of five years of experience in construction safety management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful safety programs.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and their application in a construction setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of personnel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis .
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be willing and able to travel to job sites as needed.
