Pay Rate: $50–$52/hr
Expected Hours: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | 40–50 hrs/week

Position Summary:
A leading mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to oversee safety operations on a high-profile data center construction project in Columbus, OH. This site-based role involves full-time support for mechanical operations, including HVAC system installation, ductwork, and piping activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical safety oversight, the ability to lead field-level safety execution, and a proactive approach to compliance and communication.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily mechanical safety operations including HVAC, sheet metal, and piping installations

Conduct job hazard analyses, site audits, and daily inspections

Lead site safety orientations, toolbox talks, and subcontractor coordination

Collaborate with field teams and project safety personnel to ensure safety expectations are met

Investigate incidents, document findings, and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Enforce OSHA regulations, internal safety policies, and any project-specific requirements

Maintain accurate safety records, logs, and reports

Foster a strong safety culture with proactive hazard recognition and mitigation
Certifications & Qualifications:
Required:
-
OSHA 510 certification with 5+ years of safety experience in mechanical operations,
OR BCSP certification (e.g., CSP, CHST) with 3+ years in mechanical construction -
In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1926 regulations and jobsite safety protocols

Experience managing safety on active construction projects with multiple trades

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in incident reporting, inspection tracking, and site safety documentation

First Aid/CPR Certification

Experience on data center, high-tech, or industrial construction projects

Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or hyperscale client safety protocols

Previous work history supporting HVAC and mechanical contractors
