Compensation Range: $50/hr - $55/hr (conversion up to ~$118K) Job Description:

Support and improve the reliability, availability, and security of a cloud- platform powering rec.gov . This role focuses on operating and automating AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure, improving CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring systems remain compliant within regulated environments such as FedRAMP and PCI.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Owns reliability, availability, and continuous improvement of AWS-based, containerized platforms using Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Builds and maintains automation for deployments, testing, monitoring, and releases to improve speed and reduce risk.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues across cloud services and tooling, with hands-on engineering responsibility.
• Operates within security and compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC2) while improving scalability and efficiency.

Requirements: Must-Haves:

• Experience supporting DevOps or DevSecOps processes and tooling
• Experience with Kubernetes administration and application deployment
• Experience developing and securing cloud- solutions in AWS
• Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming fundamentals
• Experience supporting platforms compliant with FedRAMP, PCI DSS, SOC2, or HITRUST
• Recent hands-on-keyboard engineering experience within the last two years
• Experience automating tasks of varying complexity
• Experience using AI tooling to accelerate or streamline tasks
• Bachelor's degree

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with AWS CDK
• Experience with TypeScript
• Experience with AWS logging and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Organizations)
• Experience with AWS security services (GuardDuty, Macie, Inspector, Detective)
• Experience operating in government-regulated environments with an ATO
• Scripting experience with Python and Bash
• Experience using Amazon Q
