Ivy Resource Group are working with a well-established main contractor to recruit an experienced Site Manager for a permanent role based in Worcester. You will be managing a range of small commercial projects.

The Role:

  • Organize daily site operations and construction activities.
  • \n

  • Develop and manage project schedules and work programmes.
  • \n

  • Coordinate labour, subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
  • \n

  • Enforce health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • \n

  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, building regulations, and environmental standards.
  • \n

  • Manage site teams and subcontractors.
  • \n

  • Monitor workmanship and productivity.
  • \n

  • Resolve on-site issues and maintain project momentum.
  • \n

  • Ensure all work meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • \n

  • Carry out inspections and snagging processes.
  • \n

  • Manage defects and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • \n

  • Act as the primary site contact for clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  • \n

  • Attend progress meetings and provide project updates.
  • \n

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Monitor project costs and resource usage.
  • \n

  • Assist in controlling budgets and minimizing waste.
  • \n

  • Identify variations and communicate potential cost impacts.
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate site records, including diaries, permits, and progress reports.
  • \n

  • Ensure all project documentation is completed and filed correctly.
  • \n

  • Support handover procedures and project close-out activities.
  • \n

  • Building repairs and maintenance works.
  • \n

  • Refurbishments and fit-out projects.
  • \n

  • Planned and reactive works.
  • \n

  • Small extensions and alterations.
  • \n

  • Occupied-site projects requiring careful coordination with building users.
  • \n

  • Multiple projects running simultaneously across different locations.
  • \n

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience managing refurbishment, maintenance, fit-out, and general construction projects.
  • \n

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage site teams and subcontractors.
  • \n

  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and industry best practices.
  • \n

  • Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • \n

  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • \n

  • Experienced in working within occupied or live environments with minimal disruption to clients.
  • \n

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n

  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
  • \n

  • Competent in project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • \n

  • Commercially aware with the ability to monitor costs and identify efficiencies.
  • \n

  • Capable of managing multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • \n

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, including accurate record keeping and reporting.
  • \n
