Location: London
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £40,000-£50,000
*** Ideal experience would be Construction & Structured Cabling within environments like Data Center, Head Offices, Trading Floors, Healthcare, Education, Retail.
Purpose of the Job
Oversee site activities from a structured cabling perspective on construction projects, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
Main Assignments
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Monitor risks throughout the project and take corrective actions as required.
Quality Management
- Ensure all works meet or exceed required quality standards.
- Develop and implement quality control plans, monitor deliverables, and address non-conformances.
Communication
- Provide clear, timely updates on progress, risks, and issues.
- Ensure the Project Manager has accurate information to support decision-making.
Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and support engineering teams to achieve project objectives.
- Manage team performance, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance as needed.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and project outcomes.
- Implement best practices to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of copper and fibre installation systems.
- Skilled in copper and fibre fault finding.
- Competent in the use of Fluke test equipment and LinkWare Live.
- Knowledge of earthing and shielded cabling systems.
- Produce accurate progress reports in Word and Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Experience producing and managing patching schedules.
- Manage permit control and benchmarking processes.
- Hold SMSTS or equivalent qualification.
- Deliver toolbox talks, PPE inspections, and daily task briefings.
- Conduct weekly health & safety site inspections.
- Prepare and update RAMs.
- Induct and onboard new engineers.
- Review and approve timesheets.
- Hold a valid Manager ECS Card.
- Upload and manage documentation, including “As Built” records.
- Manage multiple teams of engineers across concurrent projects.
- Represent the company in client meetings.

- Proven experience managing large-scale construction or structured cabling projects.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

- Demonstrates integrity, accountability, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Holds SMSTS qualification.
- Holds a valid Manager ECS Card.
