Job DescriptionSite Manager - SHDF / Retrofit and Planned Works - Ipswich / Suffolk Area The Company We are partnering with a leading UK main contractor with a turnover exceeding £700m and a strong presence. Over the past 25 years, the business has developed long-standing client partnerships, resulting in a substantial secured order book and a robust pipeline of projects nationwide. This role sits within a well-established business unit operating across London and the South, delivering a diverse range of refurbishment, remediation, retrofit, and building safety projects across both the public and private sectors. Clients include local authorities and housing associations, with project types spanning residential, student accommodation, and public-sector regeneration schemes. The business is led by a highly experienced senior leadership team with a proven track record of successful project delivery. The Role – Site Manager We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee SHDF (Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund) works, with future progression into planned works projects. Experience in SHDF delivery is desirable but not essential. What is essential is demonstrable experience managing occupied properties, with a strong ability to engage with professionally and respectfully. Key Responsibilities: * Manage day-to-day site operations on retrofit, decarbonisation, and external refurbishment schemes * Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to specification * Liaise closely with in occupied properties, handling concerns and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction * Coordinate subcontractors, logistics and materials * Maintain accurate site records, progress reporting and compliance documentation * Uphold health & safety, quality control and environmental standards * Work collaboratively with clients, consultants and internal teams About You: * Experience delivering refurbishment, retrofit, energy efficiency, or external envelope projects * Confident working in occupied residential settings * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills * Solid understanding of construction processes and compliance obligations * Able to lead teams effectively and drive programme performance * SHDF experience is advantageous but not required Why Join? * Work with a leading Tier 1 contractor with long-term pipeline stability * Opportunity to progress into major recladding and external refurbishment schemes * Supportive management team and strong career development pathway * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
