Job Title: Site Manager – Groundworks & Civils

Rate: Competitive (DOE)
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a major Groundworks & Civil Engineering project starting immediately in Harrogate. This long-term scheme is due to run until late 2026, offering excellent job security and the opportunity to work with a respected contractor delivering high-quality civil engineering works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site activities, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of groundworks and civils packages in line with programme, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site operations across groundworks and civils packages (e.g. earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads, etc.)
- Coordinate labour, plant, and materials efficiently.
- Monitor compliance with health & safety legislation and company procedures.
- Liaise with engineers, subcontractors, and the wider project team to ensure timely progress.
- Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and ensure RAMS are implemented effectively.
- Maintain accurate site records, progress updates, and safety documentation.
- Ensure all works are carried out to spec, drawings, and industry standards.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience managing groundworks and civils projects.
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid certifications.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to drive performance.
- Solid understanding of civil engineering methods and temporary works.
- Able to work full-time on site in Harrogate with immediate availability.
