Temporary Site Manager (Full-Time)\n\n Location: Birmingham (with travel across the city)\n Contract: Temporary until 30 June 2026\n ️ Sector: Social Housing / Construction / Refurbishment\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nAn established and growing organisation within the construction and property services sector is seeking an experienced Temporary Site Manager to join their team in Birmingham.\n\nThis is a full-time role overseeing site operations across a major social housing contract. A background or bias in roofing would be advantageous.\n\nYou will play a key role in leading site teams and subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.\n\nThe Project\n\nYou will be working on a large-scale, long-term social housing contract delivering:\n\n * Repairs & Maintenance\n\n * Capital Works\n\n * Retrofit programmes\n\nThis contract supports over 20,000 residential properties, including a mix of low, medium, and high-rise buildings. It is a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures\n\n * Maintain and enforce Health & Safety standards across all site activities\n\n * Produce and maintain up-to-date H&S records\n\n * Manage inductions for staff, subcontractors, and visitors\n\n * Monitor performance and provide coaching, training, and appraisals\n\n * Ensure work is delivered to specification and company standards\n\n * Maintain excellent site presentation at all times\n\n * Plan resources effectively and lead regular site meetings\n\n * Review and challenge subcontractor RAMS prior to approval\n\nEssential Requirements\n\n * NVQ Level 4 / HNC (or equivalent)\n\n * SMSTS certification\n\n * Scaffold Inspection qualification\n\n * Valid CSCS card (role appropriate)\n\n * First Aid at Work certificate\n\n * Asbestos Awareness (Duty to Manage desirable)\n\n * Strong understanding of building refurbishment projects\n\n * Full UK driving licence\n\nDesirable Skills & Experience\n\n * Roofing experience\n\n * Membership of CIOB or similar professional body\n\n * Knowledge of ASTA planning software\n\n * Experience in affordable housing refurbishment projects\n\n * Knowledge of JCT / NEC contracts\n\n * Quality assurance processes\n\nWhy Apply?\n\n * Opportunity to work on one of the largest social housing programmes in the UK\n\n * Gain experience on complex, large-scale refurbishment projects\n\n * Immediate start with a contract running through to mid-2026
