Job Description
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager based in Birmingham.
This role reports to the Project/Contracts Manager and involves daily liaison with suppliers, Site Supervisors, Project Managers, Health & Safety Advisors, and Subcontractors.
Main Duties
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical building services.
- Ensure all relevant permits and documentation are in place.
- Conduct inspections and tests to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
- Liaise with main contractors and client-side site teams.
- Ensure on-site delivery and compliance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental standards (including EHSQ, RAMS, PPE, etc.).
- Coordinate on-site plant hire, tools, and labour requirements.
- Oversee and manage direct labour and subcontractors.
- Manage relevant external correspondence and site communications.
- Order and manage day-to-day site materials.
- Prepare and update progress reports and project records.
- Maintain project documentation using the company’s document management system.
- Manage project-specific scheduling and deadlines.
- Communicate any changes or updates to the wider project team.
- Maintain quality control through regular reporting and monitoring.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant trade qualification or higher education in mechanical building services or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar mechanical site management role.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor, Site Manager, or equivalent.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Project management experience is an advantage.
- Competent in the use of IT systems with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
