Site Manager – Substation Project | Basingstoke Area \n\n Location: Basingstoke Area\n Start Date: ASAP\n⏳ Duration: Until at least September (with potential for extension)\n Competitive Rate Available\n\nWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a major substation project in the Basingstoke area.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards across the UK.\n\n⚡ The Role\n\nAs Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to client expectations.\n\nWorking within a live substation environment, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of managing teams and subcontractors on similar projects.\n\n Key Responsibilities\n\n * Managing and maintaining all site documentation\n\n * Conducting daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions\n\n * Managing and reviewing ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans)\n\n * Monitoring and managing project programmes and site progress\n\n * Completing take-offs and assisting with material requirements\n\n * Ordering and coordinating plant, equipment, and site resources\n\n * Managing direct labour and subcontractors\n\n * Ensuring health, safety, environmental and quality standards are maintained at all times\n\n * Liaising with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders\n\n * Producing site reports and progress updates\n\n * ✅ Ensuring works are delivered in line with project specifications and deadlines\n\n Requirements\n\nTo be considered for this position, candidates must have:\n\n * ✅ Proven experience as a Site Manager working on substation projects\n\n * ✅ Strong understanding of civil engineering and infrastructure works within live substation environments\n\n * ✅ SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)\n\n * ✅ Must hold a valid NG Persons qualification\n\n * ⭐ CP (Competent Person) Ticket is desirable\n\n * ✅ First Aid at Work (desirable)\n\n * ✅ Strong organisational and leadership skills\n\n * ✅ Ability to manage multiple work fronts and site teams effectively\n\n * ✅ Full UK Driving Licence\n\n What's on Offer?\n\n * Long-term project running until at least September\n\n * Opportunity to work with a leading infrastructure contractor\n\n * Supportive and professional project team\n\n * Competitive rates\n\n * Immediate start available\n\n If you have the relevant substation experience and are available to start immediately, we'd love to hear from you.\n\nApply today and be part of a team delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK
