Job Title: Civil Site Engineer
Location: Plain City (Columbus), Ohio (on-site position)
Job Type: Full-Time

In this role, you will play a critical role in overseeing the construction of various infrastructure projects, ensuring that they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with design specifications and quality standards. You will collaborate closely with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution from start to finish.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Management: Interface with clients, architects, staff and reviewing agencies to prepare and manage proposals, contracts, and billing in addition to developing site design solutions that align with project objectives and requirements.
- Project Design: Perform, lead, and oversee the design of site development projects using AutoCAD Civil3D to prepare construction drawings and specifications for conceptual design, site layout, utilities, grading, drainage, retaining walls, hydraulics, stormwater controls, environmental compliance, and permitting.
- Engineering Calculations: Perform calculations and prepare reports for earthwork balance, hydraulic studies, storm sewers, detention/retention basins, stormwater pollution prevention plans, retaining walls, and foundation design.
- Project Submittals: Prepare and coordinate submittal packages for permitting, including detailed construction drawings, calculations, and specifications for all aspects of site development projects
- Field Observation: Conduct occasional site visits and construction observation as needed to support our design projects in addition to our Construction and Testing and Inspection divisions.
- Contribute to the Company DNA: Evaluate and share any strategies or tools to assist in developing company standards and processes related to the design and calculations for site development projects. Assists in identifying areas where our current practices may benefit from improvement or streamlining.
- Mentoring: Provides technical guidance and mentorship to design team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education & Licensure: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is . Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio or the ability to secure such license within 6 months is strongly . Candidates with the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience: Proven experience in site design, or a closely related field. Experience in municipal public sector work will also be considered.
- Technical Skills: Layout, grading, and utility design with a strong proficiency in Civil3D, AutoCAD required. Proficiency in Auto Turn/Vehicle Tracking, Hydraflows/HEC-RAS or other hydraulic modeling software .
- Key Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to visualize 3-dimensional solutions are essential. Strong communication, organizational and leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively, independently or within a team, in a fast-paced and demanding environment are also required.
