Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSpaulding Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a full-time day-shift Shop Supervisor to lead our fabrication and assembly team. Spaulding Manufacturing, Inc. build high-quality asphalt equipment and trailers, and we need someone who can take charge — a leader who knows how to build, weld, and manage production with pride and precision.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the work, the people, and the industry. Selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing shop operations, setting the pace, maintaining standards, and ensuring our products meet Spaulding’s reputation for quality.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day shop operations and personnel
- Assign work orders, manage workflow, and ensure timely completion
- Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Oversee welding, cutting, and assembly operations
- Ensure accuracy, safety, and quality control in all builds
- Work closely with engineering and management to meet production goals
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members
- Maintain an organized and safe shop environment
- Take initiative to improve efficiency and process flow
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of experience in welding, fabrication and/or equipment manufacturing
- 2+ years in a supervisory or lead position in a fabrication or production environment
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining discipline and accountability
- Strong working knowledge of MIG welding, layout, fitting, and steel fabrication
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and build specs
- Understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Skilled in organizing workflow, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication and leadership presence — able to command respect through knowledge and consistency
- Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
:
- Experience building or repairing trailers, heavy equipment, or asphalt machinery
- Familiarity with 12V electrical and hydraulic systems
- Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent)
- Experience training and evaluating shop employees
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
