We are currently hiring Heavy Equipment / Diesel Mechanics to join our team and help keep our operations running smoothly.
Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment / Diesel Mechanics will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy construction equipment in a shop / field setting. This position requires mechanical experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, dump trucks, and other construction vehicles
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical systems
- Overhaul engines / transmissions
- Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with Shop Foreman and Project Superintendent
- Assist with parts identification and occasional ordering
- Ensure all work is done in compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Requirements
- Experience as a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical repairs
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools and basic shop equipment
- Willingness to work on various types of equipment and in a hands-on role
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
- Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and self-motivated
Skills
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Familiarity with DOT compliance and inspection standards
- Experience working in a highway or civil construction setting
