Shift Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Our client is looking for a dedicated Shift Maintenance Technician to join our Critical and Technical Services team. In this role, you will resolve and complete day-to-day work orders in high-priority client environments, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of customer satisfaction.\n\nPlease note this position operates on a continental shift pattern (days/nights), offering varied working hours to meet client needs.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nQualify and act as an Authorized Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding.\n\nMaintain accurate records of completed and outstanding work using our in-house system.\n\nEnsure all contractors and staff comply with company, client safety, and security requirements.\n\nParticipate in the Critical Services Training Program.\n\nCommunicate effectively with clients and management.\n\nCollaborate with other technicians to resolve operational challenges.\n\nProvide cover for colleagues during holidays, training, and sickness.\n\nComplete Planned Preventative Maintenance and provide condition assessments of plant and equipment.\n\nLog and address incidents promptly and accurately.\n\nFollow defined procedures to solve straightforward problems while exercising limited discretion.\n\nSkills & Knowledge Required:\n\nEssential:\n\nStrong technical and fault-finding skills\n\nQualified to a minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical (or HNC)\n\nExcellent administrative and procedural skills\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills\n\nKnowledge of Mechanical & Electrical services operation\n\nAbility to operate and interrogate BMS systems\n\nFamiliarity with business-critical services (UPS, Generators, Comms Rooms)\n\nDesirable:\n\nElectrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent)\n\nReport writing skills\n\n18th Edition IEE regulations\n\nHV trained\n\nAptitude & Personal Attributes:\n\nAble to work independently and take ownership of tasks\n\nHighly organized and able to prioritize under pressure\n\nConfident, calm, and professional in high-pressure environments\n\nSelf-motivated with a drive for exceptional customer service\n\nTeam player with strong energy and integrity\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\nContinental shift pattern (days/nights)\n\nOut-of-hours availability as part of escalation procedures\n\nFlexibility regarding working hours\n\nCore Competencies:\n\nExceptional customer focus and responsiveness\n\nAbility to build enduring client relationships\n\nAnalytical and detail-oriented\n\nPersonal drive to exceed goals and expectations\n\nRG Setsquare is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy
