Role Description

 

This full-time Shift Maintenance Engineer role requires on-site work in Whitby. The Shift Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for equipment maintenance both electrical and mechanical. They will also perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding, and electrical installations.

 

The role is very hands-on and calls for an individual who is happy to adopt a multi-skilled approach. Therefore, whilst the role has an electrical bias, you will be expected to be able to apply yourself to a wide base of multi-skilled engineering applications.

 

Holding appropriate engineering qualifications including an apprenticeship in electrical maintenance, 18th Edition, and at least 12 months of practical engineering exposure with a desire to expand your engineering experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, stimulating and rewarding working environment, you will be given the opportunity and support to take on responsibility from the outset and become an integral member of a friendly and supportive engineering team.

 

Must be happy to work a regular rotating shift-based work pattern.

 

Experience

  • Experience of installing/maintaining electrical services and equipment up to 415V
  • At least one year’s experience post qualification working with 3 phase distribution
  • Experience of working as an individual or as part of small team without direct authority
  • Evidence of maintenance experience in other relevant disciplines e.g. mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic
  • Experience of prioritizing a busy workload, balancing planned maintenance, project work and installations with unplanned events such as breakdowns, etc.
  • Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment

 

Knowledge

  • Electrically apprentice trained or qualifications to this effect
  • Computer literate
  • Holds City & Guilds 2391 and 2392 qualifications (training can be given)
  • Holds 18th Edition IEE certificate (training can be given)
  • Evidence of professional development and skills development
