Flash Sew & Quilt is currently looking for the right individual to join our team in either Naples or Sarasota, FL  as a Sewing Machine Repair Technician. Our Technicians perform routine maintenance and repairs for all brands of sewing machines, from vintage to computerized models, including quilting and embroidery machines, single-needle to sixteen needle machines... as well as long arm quilting machines. This position requires a hands-on person who is skilled in troubleshooting and enjoys fixing problems. Technicians will research repair parts and work with our ordering department to order replacement parts, as needed, while maintaining an inventory of the most popular parts and accessories. This position requires a strong work ethic from a team oriented individual who posses the ability to follow directions, while working  independently with limited supervision.

Please note that we will provide on board training as well as Continuous Learning Programs (CLP) with our manufacturers for the right individual !

As a point of reference, many of our current technicians have a background in HVAC repair, small machine mechanics, appliance repair, and more. We will provide in-person, online, and written training. All technicians will have access to ongoing online training programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair machine issues.
• Troubleshoot mechanical parts and assemblies
• Perform basic electrical repairs.
• Have great attention to detail & follow up.
• Posses strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Clean and organize work areas.
• Work safely by following procedures, rules of safety, and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a strong interest in mechanical parts and assembly.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry items 50-75 pounds in weight.
• Must be able to manually grip and manipulate items in a repetitive motion (hand tools).
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately and promptly.
• Have basic computer skills.

You do not have to have prior sewing machine repair knowledge...although it is .

This is a fulltime position, generally 9:00AM - 5:00PM  - Tuesday through Saturday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
