Job Summary:

Sewing Machine Operators are in charge of sewing all the products that come to their tables from the different departments to complete orders from customers. Some projects involve smaller pieces while others are very large; must be able to be adaptable to whatever is put in front of them. Must know the basics of a sewing machine and how they operate. Sewing Operators, must be someone who has excellent attention to detail and able to multitask. The sewing operator must also have good communication skills to be able to communicate with the other sewers, and warehouse employees, as well as management regarding the jobs being worked on if any issues were to arise. Must also be knowledgeable in the products to give accurate updates as needed and not afraid to ask questions if needed about a product. A sewing machine operator is also expected to want to continue to learn in the sewing room to be able to assist wherever needed, such as learning new machines that perform different tasks and learning how to sew multiple types of materials for different jobs. A successful Sewing Operator must be dependable, responsible, detail oriented, thorough, and takes pride in their work.

Essential Job Duties:

The Sewing Operator is responsible for, but not limited to:

• Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area
• Have at least one year of recent experience using an industrial sewing machine
• Have experience working with vinyl, leather, or upholstery fabric
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs upon occasion (not required frequently)
• Be able to sit for 8 hours a day
• Know how to read ruler/measuring tape and know basic units of measurement
• MUST have reliable transportation
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment using the “6-S” system:

• Sustain - Shine

Service Associate Qualifications/Skills:

• Being able to perform repetitive tasks
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency with high attention to detail
• Must be able to read work orders
• Be able to read a tape measure and understand measurements
• Able to work independently and within a team
