Job Title: Service Technician - Treasure Valley Trailers - Nampa, ID.
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt (hourly)
Reports to: Store or Service Manager

Job Summary: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailer, diagnosing and fixing issues related to brakes, tires, steering, suspension, and other trailer systems.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose needed repairs based customer concerns. Provide estimates for repairs to customers. With approval, complete repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and preventative maintenance on brakes, tires, steering, suspension, and other mechanical and electrical systems.
- Install accessories and make upgrades or modifications on new and used trailers.
- Ensure trailers meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Pointing out concerns to customers, recommending needed repairs.
- Address customer concerns, provide service updates, and work with customer to resolve concerns.
- Accurately complete work orders, test trailers – pulling behind a vehicle when necessary – for accuracy of the completed repair document repairs and maintain records of service performed.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements while performing work.
- Unload freight trucks for trailer and parts deliveries.
- Assemble, test, and wash trailers as they arrive.
- Assist other service technicians as needed.

Working Conditions
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and overtime, as needed.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions on retail trailer lots.
- Ability to regularly bend, stoop, twist, and lift while completing repairs and connecting trailers to vehicles.
- Must wear personal protective equipment where require.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent demonstrated skills and experience required.
- Equipment repair experience. Experience in trailer maintenance and repair .
- Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, proficiency with basic welding, cutting torches and electric hand tools is required.
- Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record in order to drive company owned vehicles for testing of trailer for thoroughness and completeness of the trailer repair.
- Ability to work independently and in small teams, good communication skills (both written and verbal), and attention to detail are essential.
- Highly motivated.
