Service Technician
Location: Field-Based/Lombard
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Construction Director
Role Overview:
The Service Technician is responsible for completing post-install service work, warranty items, and minor repairs for Semper Fi Construction projects—primarily windows, roofing, and exterior products. This role is a key customer-facing position and serves as the final quality checkpoint, ensuring workmanship standards, customer satisfaction, and brand reputation are upheld. This position is ideal for a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates clearly, and works independently while representing Semper Fi professionally in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Service, Repair & Troubleshooting ● Perform service calls related to windows, including adjustments, alignment, hardware repair, sealing, trim/finish corrections, and addressing minor leaks or operational issues ● Perform service calls related to roofing, including minor leak diagnostics, shingle/flashing/sealant repairs, pipe boot and penetration sealing, and exposed fastener corrections ● Focus on small to moderate size jobs, repairs and maintenance for shingle and commercial ● Complete light exterior service work as assigned (doors, trim, siding touch-ups) ● Accurately diagnose issues and determine appropriate solutions ● Identify when issues require escalation to Production or Construction leadership Warranty & Quality Closeout ● Complete warranty and punch list work efficiently and professionally ● Verify all service work meets Semper Fi quality standards prior to closeout ● Ensure issues are fully resolved—not temporary or cosmetic-only fixes ● Support reduction of repeat service calls through quality workmanship Documentation & Communication ● Document completed service work with notes and photos ● Update job status and materials used in company systems after each visit ● Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding scope, resolution, and next steps ● Report recurring issues or trends to Construction Director for continuous improvement Customer Experience, Safety & Standards ● Serve as a professional, courteous representative of Semper Fi Construction ● Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful worksite during and after service visits ● Follow all company safety policies, job-site protocols, and appearance standards ● Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned vehicle (if applicable)
Qualifications & Skills Required:
● Experience in construction, remodeling, or service-related field work ● Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail ● Ability to work independently and manage daily service schedules ● Clear written and verbal communication skills ● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation ● Comfortable using mobile apps or tablets for documentation ● Window, roofing, or exterior service experience ● Familiarity with warranty service processes ● Carpentry or finish work background ● Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Physical Requirements ● Ability to lift, carry, and use hand and power tools ● Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work at job sites ● Comfortable working in varying weather conditions What Success Looks Like ● Service issues resolved correctly the first time ● Positive customer feedback following service visits ● Accurate documentation and timely job closeout ● Reduced repeat service calls ● Consistent, professional representation of the Semper Fi brand
