Role and Responsibilities
The field service technician is required to travel to customer locations for installations, training, service, and trouble shooting of Forpak equipment. When travel is not required the field service tech will be required to assemble and wire equipment during construction in house.
Field work includes:
- Managing on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks
- Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
- Producing timely and detailed service reports
- Understanding customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
- Cooperation with technical team to share information across the organization
- Following all company’s filed procedures and protocols
- Operating vehicle in a safe manner
Construction in house includes:
- Mechanical equipment assembly from blueprints
- Electrical assembly of panels, motors, valves, HMI, servos from blueprints
- Equipment start up, trouble shooting, and functionality testing
- Electrical and mechanical R&D
- Product testing
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Proven field service experience
- Dedication to providng exceptional customer service
- Ability to drive a rental vehicle
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
- Able to speak and read English
- Must be willing to work in field for extended periods
Skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
- High level of experience with machine building and mechanical assembly techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment with mobile tools/meters
- Familiar with electrical components:
- Sensors
- VFDs
- Power Supplies
- PLCs
- HMIs
