I.  SUMMARY

Strata Products Worldwide (Strata) specializes in safety and collision avoidance technology for industrial environments. It ranks among the world’s largest developers and distributors of emergency refuge chambers, and is now a leading supplier of wireless communications, electronic tracking and proximity detection for underground mining and tunneling. 

Strata is seeking a Service Technician to install, service, and maintain collision avoidance camera systems on mobile machinery at marine terminals, mining sites, and construction sites. The Service Technician will work closely with customers to provide professional service and technical support for the company's product offerings, ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires hands-on installation of camera systems on a range of machinery sizes, as well as leading an installation team.

The Service Technician will be responsible for installations and technical support of systems and will also provide support, maintenance, inspection and repair of SafeSITE systems.

II.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install and commission collision avoidance camera systems on various types of mobile machinery. 
  • Lead installation teams during project deployments at customer sites.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for camera systems.
  • Ensure proper wiring, and electrical requirements are met during installations.
  • Conduct inspections and repairs of the installed systems as needed.
  • Work closely with customers to ensure their needs are met and provide product training when necessary.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing professional service.
  • Provide post-installation troubleshooting support as needed.
  • Work closely with the Program Management team to update installation and troubleshooting manuals
  • Analyze system data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for safety improvements within maritime operations.
  • Create detailed reports and dashboards that visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and insights for stakeholders, including operational teams and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

III.  QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.  To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Hands-on experience with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of camera systems, electrical wiring, and electronic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of power requirements, including power draw, voltage, and wiring configurations.
  • Experience with mobile machinery, such as equipment used in marine terminals, mining sites, or construction environments.
  • Knowledgeable in basic TCP/IP networking and Wi-Fi protocols is but not essential.
  • Experience leading small teams during installation projects is a plus.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

A.     Education and/or Experience

  • Experience with installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of basic TCP/IP networks including IP configuration, network topologies, and basic troubleshooting tools like ping and/or traceroute.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be self motivated and have ability to solve problems.
  • Must be technically oriented and have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be a team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.  
  • Must have strong communication skills and ability to build solid customer relations. 
  • Must possess excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel.
