Mopec is currently searching for a service technician located on the east coast as well as the west coast. Optimal locations would include Virginia, Maryland, or the Washington DC area for the east coast and for the west coast, Nevada, Oregon, or the California border. This is a remote position, and you would work out of your home office when not traveling. Travel is estimated at 75%
Job Summary:
The service technician will work as part of the service team. In this position, the service technician will provide repairs to parts, tools, and equipment and provide quality installations, maintenance and repairs to equipment to support business operations. The position requires troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components as well as circuits. This position requires technical and mechanical knowledge, knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components and manual dexterity. This position requires the ability to read instructions represented in manuals and follow these instructions. This position may require the operation of a forklift, man-lift, or pallet jack. This position exists in a temperature-controlled environment.
Essential/Key Functions:
- Correspond with internal and external customers as needed
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
- Support customers by effectively interfacing with customers and office in repairing equipment as needed.
- Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs.
- Provide a high level of communication with both Customer and Office.
- Provide repairs of parts, tools, and equipment
- Prepares and sets up equipment, parts, or products
- Wear the proper safety equipment.
- Participates in committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
- Prepare reports as needed
- Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
- Provides advisory support and assistance to the department manager as needed.
- Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators
- Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
- Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
- Physical presence on the job is essential including weekends and holidays if deemed necessary
- Other duties as assigned by management

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- 5 years in repair desired
- Minimum of an associate degree in Industrial Electricity, Electronic Engineering technology or related field or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.
- Overtime and out-of-town travel is necessary
- Prior experience in the medical industry a plus
- Experience in repair and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatics of complex systems a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have mechanical aptitude
- Must have experience in pneumatics and hydraulics
- Troubleshooting capability
- Machining and welding skills
- Proven Mechanical and electrical skills
- Ability to read mechanical blueprint and electrical schematics.
- Must have and maintain a good driving record and cannot be afraid of heights
- Must manage time well
- Must support mission and purpose of the company and be committed to professional and personal growth

- Ability to work as part of a team and interface with other departments.
