Sterling Engineering is seeking a Service Technician for our client. This is a front-line, customer-facing role responsible for evaluating, repairing, assembling, and starting up valves, actuators, and process control instrumentation. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent interpersonal skills to support and enhance customer relationships.
Job Duties:

• Repair valves, electric/pneumatic actuators, and instrumentation either at customer facilities or in-house
• Calibrate field instruments (level, pressure, temperature, flow transmitters)
• Troubleshoot and diagnose process control equipment and systems
• Ensure service work is completed efficiently, on-time, and to specification
• Assist with shop assembly tasks when needed
• Promote and maintain strong customer relationships
• Adhere to job safety practices, proper tool use, and accurate job documentation
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in valve and actuator repair
• Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, controls, and process control systems
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in product technology
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, technical manuals
• Basic math skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective customer interaction
• Valid driver’s license with clear driving record; ability to travel for up to a week at a time
• Ability to obtain required safety certifications
• Welding and machining experience a plus
