As a Service Project Manager at Polk Mechanical, you'll be empowered to take ownership of projects from inception to completion, consistently exceeding client expectations. You'll drive efficiencies, make critical decisions, and lead dynamic teams in a fast-paced environment. This pivotal role demands a leader with exceptional organizational and communication skills, ready to coordinate and manage every facet of complex service projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Project Execution: Drive the end-to-end execution of ground-up projects, acting as the primary client contact to ensure alignment with objectives, timely delivery, and unwavering quality.
  • Collaborate and Supervise: Work hand-in-hand with the project Superintendent to manage daily construction operations, upholding project schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Foster Team Cohesion: Cultivate a strong, trusting team environment through consistent communication, enhancing collective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Manage Strategic Partnerships: Nurture and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, ensuring clear communication, adherence to specifications, and alignment with our organizational goals for long-term mutual benefit.
  • Oversee Project Financials: Accurately forecast and track job costs, ensuring timely and precise billing to maintain financial health.
  • Coordinate Schedules: Align all project schedules to meet strict timelines and deliverables.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Offer strategic technical expertise to field personnel, ensuring all efforts align with project objectives.
  • Optimize Operations: Facilitate swift problem resolution, optimizing operational efficiency across every project phase.
  • Be On-Site: Regularly visit job sites to monitor progress, inspect work quality, and conduct meetings to swiftly resolve any issues.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience managing construction projects. Renovation experience is a significant plus!
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in negotiating construction change orders and delivering impactful project presentations.
  • Problem-Solving Prowess: The ability to tackle complex, multi-faceted problems using a variety of effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Communication Excellence: Strong written, oral, and presentation skills to effectively convey information to all stakeholders.
  • Interpretation Skills: The ability to interpret contractual documents, plans, specifications, schematic diagrams, and isometric drawings with precision.
  • Financial Acumen: Proficiency with job cost accounting systems and a solid understanding of financial models used in fixed-price, cost-plus, and unit rate/price contracting.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a testable intermediate skill level in Excel.
  • Availability: The ability to be reasonably on-call to support our clients' 24/7 operations, which may include evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
