A Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer has the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a system designed to provide another 50 years of security for this great nation. Nuclear Surety ensures that nuclear weapons are protected against peacetime and wartime threats at all times. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and may offer a competitive relocation package.

A Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman on the Sentinel program will be provided the opportunity to:

Performing decomposition of Department of Defense safety manuals into requirements and allocating them to design teams for implementation

Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of a next ICBM weapon system

Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems

Evaluate the physical security design based on the Department of Defense Safety manuals

Interface directly with various compartments of the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems

Use model based engineering tools on a major weapon system to pioneer a new way to evaluate and analyze modern design

Learn a niche discipline that spans all aspects of Nuclear Power and Munitions

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a US with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a computer or software engineering discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, a Master's Degree in computer science or an electrical, computer, or software engineering discipline and 6 years of related experience, or a PhD in computer science or an electrical, computer, or software engineering discipline and 4 years of related experience

3 years of experience with software analyses/test or verification of requirements

3 years of experience with any of the following tools and : DOORs, Cameo, TeamCenter, GIT, JAZZ, NX, Capitol

Qualifications:

PhD in computer science or electrical, computer, or software engineering discipline

Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Graduate Certificate

5 years of experience in Systems Engineering

5 years of experience with any of the following tools and : DOORs, Cameo, TeamCenter, GIT, JAZZ, NX, Capitol

5 years of experience with software analyses/test or verification of requirements

Active DOD Top Secret Clearance

Experience working with Nuclear Surety Requirements and the Nuclear Certification process (e.g. AFI 63-125, AFMAN 91-118/91-119/31-108, DODM 5210.41, AFI 91-107)

Experience and working knowledge of the Sentinel program

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
