Senior Testing & Commissioning Engineer
Location – Illinois, Wisconsin & Michigan – 75% Travel
Salaries range from $110k-$160k plus 401k, Health Insurance, Vacation, PTO, Employee Ownership Plan, Per Diem, Company Vehicle & Bonus Schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, commission, and start up control circuits, instrumentation, and high-voltage equipment (up to 765kV).
- Perform testing on power circuit breakers, complex relays, and metering devices.
- Program, test, and calibrate electro-mechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based protection relays.
- Rotate on-call duties for emergency response and address customer emergencies promptly.
- Assess test results and compile comprehensive reports, including findings, recommendations, and proposed improvements.
- Review and implement electrical design upgrades for utility substations, ensuring adherence to client-specific standards and requirements.
- Work closely with customer representatives on-site to identify and meet their needs.
- Use engineering expertise and best practices to deliver electrical systems that are safe, reliable, and cost-efficient.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to technicians and engineers as required.
The successful candidate must have/show:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of the Electric Code and other industry standards including, OSHA, IEEE, NETA & NFPA.
- Previous experience with power utility testing, commissioning projects are .
- Experience with SEL and other protection software.
