Senior Systems Integration & Test Engineer in West Midlands

Onsite/Hybrid working West Midlands
Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Integration and Test Engineer for a contract opportunity within the automotive engineering sector. Working as part of the Systems team, the role will focus on systems integration, design verification planning, hands-on testing, instrumentation, data collection and technical reporting across technologies including batteries, inverters, motors and charging equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Creating and maintaining consolidated Design Verification Plans (DVPs) and Design Verification Methods (DVMs) in collaboration with wider systems and engineering teams
Developing practical test plans and methods for automotive systems and components
Planning, supporting and delivering hands-on physical testing across components, hardware-in-the-loop rigs and vehicles
Supporting the development and use of measurement, instrumentation and data collection tools
Working closely with Build and Test Operations, Systems and Engineering teams to promote effective cross-functional delivery
Analysing complex test data against success criteria, identifying issues and supporting fault-finding and root cause analysis
Producing and maintaining test plans, methods, guides, trackers, status reports and other supporting documentation
Contributing to systems integration, verification and validation activities in line with safety and quality requirements
Job Requirements:
A degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline, ideally control, electrical or electronic engineering
Relevant experience in systems design and/or electrical or electronic engineering
Experience in testing a range of automotive systems, components, hardware-in-the-loop rigs or vehicles
Strong understanding of engineering, physics and applied mathematics, with the ability to apply technical principles to real-world problems
Understanding of Systems Engineering processes, including the Systems V-model, requirements management and verification definition
Familiarity with systems engineering tools such as Enterprise Architect, Jama or Medini
Experience with test automation, diagnostics or fault injection tools, including PEAK CAN, Vector tool suites or LabVIEW
Good understanding of high-voltage safety, together with a strong commitment to safety protocols and quality assurance
