Job Description
McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is seeking a Systems Engineer IV who will support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. NUWC is the United States Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, initiative, and resourcefulness and should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment. This Engineer will be required to support projects related to NUWC's Platforms and Payloads Integration Department (Code 45) by performing the following tasks:

- Work with NUWC Engineers to establish standards, practices, and procedures for integrating, testing, and evaluating weapons systems used onboard Navy Submarines.
- Evaluate system capabilities, architectures, design concepts, requirements, risks, opportunities, and processes for integration, test, evaluation, and transition impacts.
- Design, develop, and implement test and evaluation strategies, plans and methods to assure reliability of systems in conjunction with system specifications and defined capabilities.
- Develop and interpret requirements, drawings, data sets, reports, and specifications.
- Interface with other members of project teams to define and implement engineering solutions to meet system mission objectives.
- Help resolve programmatic and technical problems that could affect cost, schedule, and performance.
- Participate in reviews of systems under development to ensure requirements compliance through verification and validation.
- Help integrate technical, cost, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with Department of Defense requirements.
- Perform system analyses, design studies, testing, and data collection/analysis.

- 20+ years of experience related to submarine systems.
- Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to all levels of the customer organization.
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
