Salary £52,647 + (Commensurate with skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing
Prepare and/or oversee the definition of system requirements, the development of specifications and the preparation of complex and business critical engineering designs.
Develop, maintain and control the technical interface to customers, suppliers and collaborators to ensure effective and swift resolution of technical issues and to deliver contractual commitments.
Ensure that designs produced consider the Design Safety, Design for Manufacture assembly, dis-assembly and end of life processing, Design to cost and Design for reliability and maintainability
Validation of any systems / equipment, which may include the of test schedules, test and integration plans and the writing/investigation of test problem reports
Liaison with internal and external stakeholders as necessary to discuss technical issues and problems resolving technical issues
Your skills and experiences
Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, with a demonstrated background within an engineering environment.
Experience in use of Systems Engineering tools and techniques, including requirements management, product safety and validation and verification techniques.
A good understanding of mechanical, electrical and software principles and their interfaces.
Good working knowledge of technical office process standards, standard instructions and drawing standards.
Knowledge and experience of lifecycle processes and exposure to testing, trials and qualification of designs.

In this role you will be working within the Engineering Function on the Research & Technology team, playing a key role in designing systems for business-critical projects, including development of new products using novel technologies.
