Intuitive Machines is a partner on the NASA Engineering Services contract HSFTIC, which is the Human Space Flight Technical Integration contract, which is now being awarded as MTIC, Mission Technical Integration Contract. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer with 10+ years of aerospace engineering experience tto join the team.
The successful candidate will contribute to strategic planning, simulation, verification, and validation activities across spacecraft systems, working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
Responsibilities
- Act as Orion Main Engine SE&I Lead for the Orion Program.
- Responsible for the technical adequacy and traceability of the Orion vehicle requirements, interfaces, and applicable documents/standards.
- Interface and resolve schedule, technical, and integration issues with external entities (e.g., WSTF, Orion ESM Integration Office (EIO)).
- Identify data or hardware handoff needs (Prime to NASA, Prime to Vendors, Prime to Prime) and document agreements and schedule.
- Track and report progress of potential changes to environments and interfaces, elevate potential issues to management, and provide guidance on effective solutions.
- Oversee the contractor’s requirements flow-down and Test and Verification processes, verify that they are consistent with NASA requirements, and manage the NASA stakeholder review on verification criteria development and closures.
- Support verification of the OMEs, including supporting schedule for all verification activities; coordinating Subject Matter Expert participation in verification activities, plans, and issues; tracking Requirements Change Notices (RCNs); and tracking and reporting verification closure metrics.
- Support testing required for verification, validation, or demonstration as required.
- Review and integrate studies and analysis results into technical products.
Required Education/Experience/Skills
- BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering school, plus ten (10) years of appropriate work experience.
OR
- BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering school, plus fifteen (15) years of appropriate work experience.
- Applied working knowledge of product life cycle development and systems engineering practices.
- Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Requirements
- Experience with NASA's Orion Program
- Familiarly with NPR 7123.1, Systems Engineering Processes and Requirement
- Knowledge of liquid propulsion systems
