Our client, a world leader in diagnostics and life sciences, is looking for a "Sr Systems Engineer” based out of Santa Clara, CA.

Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Further Extension)

Pay Rate: $60 - $80/hr on W2 DOE

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Development Group supporting Next Sequencing (NGS) product development. In this hands-on role, you will lead and contribute to all phases of the system development lifecycle including feasibility, integration, verification, and validation of end-to-end NGS solutions, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive system design, integration, testing, and risk management activities for NGS platforms.
  
• Develop and execute test cases, analyze performance data, and ensure requirements traceability.
  
• Collaborate across functions to develop sample-to-answer workflows including sample extraction, library prep, and sequencing.
  
• Contribute to design history files and maintain documentation aligned with quality systems.
  
• Support troubleshooting, backlog review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; advanced degree .
  
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in NGS workflows (e.g., nucleic acid extraction, library prep).
  
• Strong troubleshooting skills; familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Python, JMP).
  
• Experience with automation, imaging data, and regulated product development ().
