About the Role
A nationally recognized engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Group in Tacoma, WA. As a senior team member, you’ll take the lead on marine and waterfront infrastructure projects—from ferry terminals and marinas to shipyards, floating structures, and industrial waterfront facilities. You’ll pair technical depth with leadership skills, mentoring junior staff, and working closely with clients to deliver projects that directly impact communities.
What You’ll Do
- Lead structural design efforts on complex waterfront projects, including pile foundations, bulkhead walls, prestressed concrete, and seismic design.
- Manage project scope, budgets, and schedules while coordinating across disciplines.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure technical excellence and compliance.
- Mentor engineers and foster knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
What We’re Looking For
- 15+ years of structural design experience, ideally with waterfront or marine infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis required); Master’s .
- Licensed Structural Engineer (SE).
- Expertise in concrete, steel, and timber design, plus experience with piles, bulkhead walls, prestressed concrete, and seismic design.
- Knowledge of ASCE 61-14, AASHTO, IBC, ASCE-7, AISC, ACI, and NDS.
- Software proficiency in SAP2000, L-Pile, Excel, and VBA .
- Strong communicator with proven ability to lead projects and engage clients.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $150,000 – $230,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonuses.
