This role offers strong technical leadership opportunities, career advancement, and an excellent benefits package.About the RoleThis senior-level position is responsible for leading structural design activities from concept through completion across a diverse portfolio of substation and utility-related projects. The engineer will oversee structural modeling, design reviews, project documentation, technical leadership, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design for substation projects from conceptual engineering through final design.
- Prepare and evaluate specifications, design criteria, RFQs, and technical bid summaries.
- Manage project schedules, structural design budgets, and staffing coordination.
- Conduct structural analysis using engineering codes and industry software tools.
- Oversee QA/QC processes, including drawing reviews, model checks, and design verification.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction to project teams.
- Review vendor drawings and coordinate with suppliers, designers, and other technical disciplines.
- Support proposal development, cost estimates, and project pursuit activities.
- Perform field inspections, site walks, and resolve design issues during construction.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and structural documentation.
- Support collaboration with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline from an ABETaccredited program.
- Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience (substation or utility experience ).
- Strong knowledge of structural design codes (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI).
- Experience with EPC or large-scale infrastructure projects .
- Professional Engineer (PE) license .
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problemsolving, and technical leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and modeling tools.
