Senior Structural Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, playing a pivotal role in strengthening their structural engineering team in Manchester and supporting projects across the wider UK.



This role offers exposure to a wide variety of projects - from the design of large, complex developments valued between £5m and £200m, to detailed assessments of existing structures. It's a chance to take on responsibility, develop leadership skills, and make a real impact on the built environment.



The Role



As Senior Structural Engineer, you'll be delivering high-quality structural engineering services within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary design team. You'll take projects from inception through to completion, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the growth and commercial direction of the team.



Key Responsibilities



Lead projects independently, ensuring delivery to programme, quality and budget.

Undertake structural analysis and design in accordance with Eurocodes, delivering sustainable, efficient, and buildable solutions.

Review and check technical deliverables including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.

Conduct structural surveys, inspections and building assessments, producing clear technical reports and recommendations.

Mentor and support junior engineers, technicians and apprentices.

Oversee site visits, resolving technical queries and supporting contractors during construction.

Contribute to resource planning and financial performance reporting.

Requirements



Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Chartered, or working towards Chartered status, with IStructE or ICE.

Strong technical background in the design of concrete, steel, masonry and timber structures.

Proficient with structural design software

Knowledge of BIM and 3D environments, with AutoCAD/Revit experience an advantage.

Demonstrable experience running projects of significant size and complexity in the UK.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident in a client-facing role.

Commercially aware, collaborative, and ambitious.
