Mount Indie is hiring for a fast-growing defense technology company that’s redefining how advanced systems are built and deployed for the U.S. military and Intelligence Community. Their mission is to modernize defense through next- software, AI, and integrated hardware systems that enable rapid, data-driven decision making on the battlefield.

They’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with both technical depth and leadership experience to help deliver complex, mission-critical programs. This role is hands-on and highly visible—perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to make a tangible impact on security.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the software roadmap and execution plan aligned to major program deliverables
• Oversee a multidisciplinary engineering team (software, hardware, test) building integrated systems
• Establish and maintain best practices in software design, development, testing, and deployment
• Manage and mentor engineers while driving hands-on technical work as needed
• Integrate third-party systems, APIs, and sensors across a dynamic, multi-domain environment
• Track and analyze metrics for performance, reliability, and scalability
• Support field testing and system deployment (approx. 10–15% travel)
• Serve as the technical point of contact for customer-facing engagements

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software or systems engineering
• 8+ years building production-quality software (C/C++ )
• Strong experience leading engineering teams in an agile environment
• Background in software–hardware integration or complex, real-world systems
• Active Top Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one)

Qualifications

• Experience leading customer-facing, mission-critical programs
• Familiarity with simulation environments (SITL/HITL)
• Background in cybersecurity or multi-network systems
