Senior DevOps/Software Engineer - Contract Position
Duration: 6+ months (potential for extension)
Location: Remote (local candidates for occasional office visits)
Start: Immediate
What You'll Do:
Build and maintain cloud infrastructure for robotics systems, implement automation, and ensure operational excellence. Must onboard quickly, learn independently, and work fast.
Required:
- 10+ years in DevOps AND software development
- Expert-level AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation)
- Strong Python or Go development skills
- Proven ability with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Advanced troubleshooting across distributed systems, networking, and OS
- Solid software engineering fundamentals (data structures & algorithms)
- Experience with microservice architecture including hardware integration
Bonus:
- Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS experience
- Infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Observability tools and practices
- Security best practices and compliance
- Robotics systems experience
- Track record of high-impact AWS implementations
Note: Must have BOTH DevOps expertise AND strong software engineering background. Python work focuses on Lambdas with exceptionally high code quality standards.
