Reports To: Software Engineering Manager

Location: Dallas, Texas – ABOG Center for Certification and Continuing Education (Uptown); Hybrid Work environment with expectation for 40% in office.

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

SUMMARY: The Senior Software Engineer will possess experience delivering multiple software projects through a complete software development life cycle (SDLC). Successful candidates will possess extensive knowledge in the delivery of web, web services, and windows services applications. Candidates should be able to deliver projects independently or provide technical guidance to small project teams. The role requires expertise in modern design, development practices, secure coding principles, system integration, and agile methodologies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver software solutions across the full software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support.
  • Develop reliable, secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Create flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, technical specifications, and other relevant artifacts to identify requirements, document solutions, and support long-term maintainability.
  • Produce technical designs and contribute to application architecture decisions within assigned projects.
  • Integrate software components into fully functional, service-oriented architecture (SOA) based systems.
  • Execute projects within the parameters of the plan, organizational priorities and industry standards.
  • Trouble shoot, upgrade, optimize, and maintain existing systems, including root cause analysis (RCA) and resolution of production or system performance issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and support successful implementation.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools, where appropriate, in alignment with organizational data security, confidentiality, and code quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and support to team members on assigned projects or development efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrable Proficiency: Candidates may be required to demonstrate proficiency in essential skills during the interview process (e.g., work samples, analysis exercise, and communication brief).
  • BS or BA in CS, CIS, MIS or related.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: CS, CIS, MIS
  • 5 years’ experience in full life cycle software development in Agile shop
  • 5 years’ experience with .NET web interfaces and services
  • 5 years’ experience with SQL Server, writing queries, views and stored procedures
  • 3-5 years’ experience with C#, Vue, SQL, HTML
  • Experience with AI development tool like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, other
  • Experience with data modeling and table design
  • Experience with iOS or Android application development
  • Off-the-shelf Software or Software as a Service experience
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work withing established timelines.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The following essential functions describe what must be accomplished and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Primarily sedentary computer-based work; frequent keyboard/mouse use and on-screen analysis.
  • Regular verbal and written communication in meetings and documentation; ability to present findings.
  • Occasional standing/walking/meeting facilitation; occasional lifting/carrying of typical office items (up to 20 lbs.).
  • Periodic travel (up to 10%) for meetings or conferences.

Typical professional office/administrative environment with low noise levels; hybrid schedule with 40% in-office presence (role-specific positions that align with the nature of their work) and periodic travel for meetings/conferences. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
